MONROE, La.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 27, 2002--Glen F. Post, III,
president and CEO of CenturyTel, was affirmed by the company's board
of directors as chairman of the board today. Post has served as vice
chairman of the board, president and CEO since 1992.
Clarke M. Williams, formerly chairman of the board, died June 5
after a lengthy illness.
Since joining CenturyTel in 1976, Post has served in numerous
capacities including executive vice president and chief financial
officer, president and chief operating officer and vice chairman of
the board, president and CEO. He was elected to CenturyTel's board of
directors in 1985.
